The Eilenburger museum presents in the traditional „Roter Hirsch“ (transl. red deer) the eventful 1000-year history of the city by the river Mulde. On the upper floor of the former noble hostel, testimonies of the past of Eilenburg are sometimes presented in the ambience of their time. In the attic was found an impressive collection of historic dollhouses. There is also an original classroom from the 1920s in the side wing. Here, if necessary, school lessons are held as in the past. The museum also looks after the sorbent tower and the gigantic hill cellar facilities.
